Connor Has a Good Heart

We took a trip into Salt Lake today, to get a check-up on Connor's heart. About a year and a half ago, his pediatrician found a murmur in his heart, called a Still's murmur, a slight vibrating sound in the heart, that is very common in young children. It often goes away, but to be cautious, they wanted to see him back in about a year. So, we took care of that today. After getting an ultrasound on his heart, it turns out that everything is completely normal, and his heart is healthy. Good! Less to worry about.

Connor was a trooper today, watching Dragon Tales while the tech guy put "stickers" on his chest, and goop for the ultrasound gadget.
Connor had a great time hunkering down at the "feeding trough", aka Golden Corral, which used to be one of our favorite places to eat in West Jordan
Dani likes to ham it up for the camera. Baby had a good time eating mashed potatoes & mac n cheese, but her favorite was the banana pudding with nilla wafers and whip cream. Can't start 'em too early on sugar, don't you know.
One of my errands while in Salt Lake was to visit my favorite fabric store, The Fabric Center on Redwood Road, just south of 90th. A lady in my ward gave me $100 to buy fleece to make the no-sew fleece blankets for Project Linus. I'm going to cut the fringe around the edges with my handy new cutting ruler (pictured in the center). I'm totally nuts right? But it's for a good cause!

Time Log -

5:40 am - woke up, I don't know why, but I wanted to sleep more because I was still tired. I don't know if I did at all, honestly, but I finally dragged my rear end out of bed
6:50 am - out of bed, got dressed to exercise, Emma woke up, gave her to Dani to wake Dani up, exercised 10 min (lame, but it was all I had time for), tried to get all of us ready to go, why does this ALWAYS take forever?!!!!
8:40 am - pulled out of the driveway, stopped for gas, finally got on the road
11:10 am - screeched into the parking lot at Primary Children's for the appt, got Connor's echo and finally saw the doc, Connor's heart is great!
1:35 pm - back on the road, took everyone to Golden Corral in West Jordan
3:00 pm - Fabric Store, can you believe I was out of there in 30 min?!, on to Jordan Landing, where I dropped Dani off at Target to find some shirts, the rest of us went to Robert's Crafts, picked up Dani, had to go back to the fabric store because Connor left his blanket there (whew! I just cringe thinking what it would have been like if we drove back to Rock Springs without his blanket)
4:45 pm - call Gil, tell him to get a ride for his choir concert (third or fourth performance this year, so I only feel a little guilty for missing it), there's no way we are going to make it back to drive him to his concert, so I decide to go to String Beads, a beading/jewelry store in Sugarhouse that I wanted to get to today, and was going to abandon. My brain, and my purse, just about exploded from the variety, will have to go back, got some things for Secret Business for Sue, now I want to take a tour of all the beading shops in Salt Lake, like Liz and Jane used to do a quilt shop tour
5:45 pm - back on the road, stopped in Park City for Gas, stopped in Evanston for gas & treats (30 min break)
8:50 pm - finally back home, unload & clean out car, run to Wal-Mart for some necessaries & the cool cutting gadget for cutting the fringe on the fleece blankets
9:50 pm - read scriptures with kids, put 'em all to bed, clean off kitchen table for tomorrow
10:55 pm - check email, write blog post
11:30 pm - go straight to bed, don't pass go, don't watch any movies...

I am happy to hear that Connor's heart is GOOD! I sure do love it when you take the time to blog WITH pix :-)
Am getting closer to a descision about which new computer - am now looking at a screaming fast one that will do video editing and I could actually do something about all those home videos I have taken over the years - like edit and put them on DVD. Besides, it is fun to reminise - warms the cockles of my heart.

Love the pic of Connor grubbin'. A true Garlitz!

"Screeched into the parking lot at Primary Children's for the appt" - totally laughing because that's exactly how I am every time I come to Salt Lake for a doctor's appt!

What's this about secret bead business? I'm all a-flutter with anticipation!
